About No Place Gallery
No Place Gallery is an artist-run contemporary art space located at 1 E Gay St. in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

Founded in 2011 as a shared studio space, No Place evolved into a public gallery in December 2015 under the direction of James McDevitt-Stredney, hosting experimental music, poetry, and visual arts programming. In 2021, the gallery relocated to its current downtown location, expanding its scale and ambition while remaining deeply rooted in artist-led practice.

As one of the first major contemporary art galleries in downtown Columbus, No Place has become a vital site for experimentation, dialogue, and community engagement. The gallery operates between disciplines and scenes; presenting painting, sculpture, installation, performance, and time-based work by emerging and established artists from the Midwest and beyond.

No Place exists as a conduit for contemporary visual art outside the gravitational pull of major coastal art hubs. The program prioritizes long-term artist sustainability by offering immediate access, professional support, and the freedom to experiment without sacrificing career growth. Through exhibitions, partnerships, and advocacy, No Place has helped raise the visibility of dozens of artists nationally and internationally, fostering meaningful relationships with collectors, institutions, and museums throughout the region.
