The second iteration of Material Mythologies extends the preliminary inquiry, drawing upon the foundation of last year's exhibition while expanding the scope of dialogue between object, material, and narrative. In this chapter, the works assembled reflect a heightened awareness of transformation—not only in the physical manipulation of form, but in the shifting contexts through which meaning is constructed. Each piece operates as both relic and proposition, existing within a liminal space where practical function and symbolic charge are in constant negotiation.
This version deepens the investigation into how objects embody memory, aspiration, and ideology; questioning how their identities shift across time, place, and systems of belief. Materials are not merely carriers of form, they act as repositories of human gesture, labor, and desire. Here, the artist's hand becomes an intermediary—one that interrupts, redirects, and reanimates the myths already embedded in matter.
In reimagining these material mythologies, the exhibition foregrounds the tension between permanence and impermanence, control and surrender. Through acts of assembly, disassembly, and reconfiguration, the artists expose the latent potential of their chosen mediums to speak across disciplines and histories. What emerges is a landscape of objects that are at once familiar and estranged—an invitation to reconsider how we assign value, how we interpret presence, and how the stories woven into our material world might continue to evolve.
